1. Who we are
Motivatum is a personal life planning app built to help you set goals, build habits and track your progress. Motivatum is independently developed and operated.

2. What information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Your name (optional)
- Your email address and password (only if you create an account)
- The goals, milestones, habits, tasks, daily check-ins, life assessments, gratitude entries and reflections you enter into the app
Information collected automatically
- Your device's timezone offset (used to send reminders at the correct local time)
- A push notification token (only if you enable notifications — used to deliver reminders to your device)
Motivatum does not intentionally collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or other personal device information unless required for a feature you explicitly choose to use in a future version of the app.
3. How we use your information
We use your information solely to provide the app's features:
- To store and display your goals, habits and daily progress
- To sync your data across your devices (signed-in members only)
- To send you the reminders you set up
- To show you insights about your own progress
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for their own purposes.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where applicable, we process your personal information to:
- Provide the services you request
- Fulfil our contractual obligations to you
- Comply with legal obligations
- Pursue our legitimate interests in operating and improving Motivatum, provided those interests do not override your privacy rights
5. Local storage technologies
Motivatum uses local browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) and similar technologies to remember your preferences, store your data while you use the app as a guest, and provide core offline functionality. These technologies are not used for advertising or behavioural tracking.
If you use Motivatum as a signed-in member, your data is also synced to secure cloud storage as described in section 6 below.
6. Where your data is stored
Guest users
All your data is stored locally on your device using your browser's storage. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your data cannot be recovered.
Signed-in members
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database subject to Google's security standards. Your account is managed through Firebase Authentication.
Push notification tokens are stored in Firebase so reminders can be delivered to your device.
7. International data transfers
Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own through our cloud service providers, including the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information, including relying on our providers' compliance with applicable data protection frameworks.
8. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These measures include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), Firebase's built-in security rules, and authentication controls. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we use industry-standard security practices through our service providers to help protect your data.
9. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as you have an account or use the app. If you use Motivatum as a guest, your data is stored only on your device and is not held on our servers — we have no copy to delete. Clearing your browser storage or uninstalling the app permanently removes your guest data.
When you delete your account, we will permanently delete your account information and associated cloud data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information by law. You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Your Account → Delete Account.
10. Third-party services
Motivatum uses the following third-party services, each subject to their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, push notifications) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Fonts (typography, loaded from Google's servers on legal document pages)
No other third-party analytics, tracking or advertising services are used.
11. Children's privacy
Motivatum is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at visionaryapps@outlook.com and we will delete it promptly.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all data associated with it
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing
- Export your data (available via Settings → Export)
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

13. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
